Conservation of Coral and Shark Project under the auspice of Thai Navy Corp Conservatory, Sa Taheb, Chonburi

This activity was conducted on 29 February, 2020. 40 students, 2 staff members, 3 faculty members and the Dean joined to materialize this project.

The activity was to replant the corals and release them in the sea, the staff taught all participants how to replant corals. Teamwork was crucial in the replanting and releasing the corals, as the corals cannot be left outside the water for more than 30-45 minutes as they would not survive. In all, they replanted 11 sets of corals. The GSHS students also released 12 baby sharks and 40 cotton fish back to the sea.

The Conservation of Corals and Shark Project under the auspice of Thai Navy Corp Conservatory, Sa Taheb, Chonburi, is viewed as a successful project as this not only has support from UNESCO’s Life Under Water development but also allows school leaders’ to illustrate to the students their environmental and societal responsibility as active citizens and learner persons.
