Dementia Workshop – British Embassy

The Faculty members were invited by the British Embassy to conduct a one-day workshop on Dementia, four faculty members (Dr. Parvathy Varma, Dr. Santhosh Mohanan, Dr. Donald Johnson and Dr Rajitha Menon). Approximately, 21 participants including counselors and other staff participated in the Workshop, the feedback received was extremely good and the rating based by the participants was 9.2/10. The workshop covered the knowledge on Dementia, types of dementia, warning signs and an experiential session on understanding their experience on communications and discussion of cases. The objective of the workshop was to prepare the counselor staff in the British Embassy to deal with the British Nationals with dementia who are living in Thailand and who contact the embassy. The real cases were discussed during the session, which was an eye-opener for them. The sessions were very interactive
